New bass time! Help me out!

Okay guys, the time has come. I have been saving for about 3 or 4 months, and have reached a spending point of $1000-$1300.

I am getting something *used* and would love some different ideas. Im going to GC this weekend to try things out, and Ill make a list of things to try. The employees wont like it, but too bad! :D

I play funk, lots of funk, jazz, fusion, R&B, blues, seldomly Hip Hop. anything other than rap, country, or metal.

Things I have looked at/am looking at:
EBMM SR4
EBMM SR5 (SR5 HH)
Warwick Thumb
Fender MIA Jazz, MIA Jazz Deluxe, MIA Jazz Deluxe 5
Lakland DJ, 44-01, etc.

Im a Jazz neck guy, and my Geddy neck is perfect, so Ps are out.

Im up for anything! Would I like to buy new? Yeah, but Im not going to as:
1. I need to finish my amp set up sometime soon.
2. I hate having the feeling of not wanting to play a bass because its "new".

Im up for anything guys! Just throw it out there! 4 or 5 bangers are welcome, but I currently have two 4s and could go for that low B. But as I said, that will be determined come this weekend!

Thanks guys!
J.

"need to finish my amp set up sometime soon" You said it. That's where you should spend your money, right there.

I know, I know, but I promised myself that if I saved every scrap of money all summer I would splurge on a new bass.

I know, I know, stupid move, but Im holding true to myself. Plus, I have a bit more cash coming up soon enough and Avatar isnt too expensive. ;)

If it can stay closer to $1000, that gives me that extra ~$250 to put into another cab.

I'm a Lakland and EBMM nut. You could get a mice used Stinray 4 or 5 here and have change left in your pocket, or something like a Darryl Jones Lakland or Joe Osborn (both Jazz copies) or even something like a Lakland 55-02 which would give you a thunderous low B.

I forgot Lakland in my OP. I have also been looking at them, mainly the DJ and the Lakland only basses, like the 44-01, etc.

Thanks for the ideas!

How did you and Tommy both get out of the Photoshop thread? Get back in there!

And Im actually looking at Deluxe Jazz. I love the tone of my, but I want:
More frets
Color, natural, etc.
More tonal options
Tight B string, if a 5er.

Thats why I said Deluxe Jazz, the P thing was a joke though, but maybe not...:ninja:

22 fret, comes in a sweet amber, ash body optional, active(tonal options).

Tight B, thats to do with the string guage.;)

There's a fiver in amber in the Classifieds here for cheap, I was tempted myself.
