I know you fellow TB'ers get this question alot, but I feel I'm readdy to get a new bass, and I've narrowed it down, but I want to get more oppinions(especially if you've tried these basses) as well. So here's what I've narrowed it down to:

anyhow, first of all, to give propre advice people on this board need to know what you're after. what genre you play, what kinda sound you looking for, amp you play through, etc, etc...

I'd say definately go out and try them if you can, if you can't, then i suppose you'll just have to order blind and hope you like it.

Out of those that you listed, I would take the Ibanez hands down. I haven't played that exact model, but it should be OK. I absolutely hate the Danelectro's that I have tried, and I have heard of some quality issues with the Rogues.

IMHO, of course.:)

Definately try out an epiphone T-bird in store, they have a classic sound to them, but they are a bit muddy in my experience. It seems like the Danelectro is not going to sound like you want it to, they've got that really old school country bass sound to them. The rogue seems like you may never be happy with it and you can't really upgrade it easily. The ibanez seems like a really cool choice, I've never tried one but if it sounds better for what you want than the other basses than that's the one. See if you can rent one for a week to try out with your band to see how it sits in the mix too.

Defintely go with the Ibanez, I play similar music and my ibanez, although not the same model, sounds great with the music. And like jumbosilverette said "the Ibanez is a really nice sounding and playing bass." And plus the Ibanez looks cool :D
But before you buy any of them definetly try to play them, the Ibanez might not be the sound you're looking for. I made the mistake of buying a bass online, without having tried it, and I ended up giviing it to my brother :D

If your looking for a high quality bass, don't go for an SX. If you want a good bass, for the absolute least amount of money, and for that you are willing to sacrifice some tone and quality, then take a look here.

Really, a Fender or Fender styled instrument is going to take care of everything you need. Geezer from AC/DC played a jazz bass (IIRC) for most of the 70s, The guy from G&R (whos name escapes me right now) plays fender p/j basses. A simple Fender Jazz bass is going to be able to do everything you want well. I'd really suggest looking at a Fender Jazz Bass Standard. For about 400$ (close to the price of your other selections) you get the most versitility, and one of the most respected instruments on the planet.
