New Bass

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of picking up a bass guitar this week but I need some advice.

I've tried learning to play guitar before, but I never really got the hang of it - mainly due to not knowing where to start. I'm worried that the same thing may happen when I buy a bass. I will probably try jumping into songs I enjoy too fast before learning basic things.

If there is any advice you can give me on where to actually begin that would be great. I just need like a little plan so I can improve gradually, properly.

Find a teacher.

find a teacher and also buy some bass tutorial book so it can get you starting first. It will be boring at start but once you got though that you will enjoy every moment you play

right now a teacher is out of the equation...

I haven't got to much cash to splash out atm being unemployed ^.^ but yeah, any advice for temporary self tutoring?
