Im interested in a base model Warwick or Spector but don't no much about either. None of the music shops has either brand so I need some info. I like basses with slim necks(Ibanez,Jazz basses), and I also like them light. Can someone that knows a little about these guide me in the right direction?

Why does everybody say that? Some people miss out on learning. You are assuming that each thread on the same topic will get the same responses, or that the same users that were around when old threads were created, might still be around. It's a pretty limiting attitude, there is always room for more learning, or somebody who might pop in with more info.

And there are lots of threads and subjects I’ve missed, so if a subject comes up again, I get to read/participate.

I like my Warwick Corvette 4 string. The bass is not very heavy and has a nice long thin neck. It is 1 1/2 inches wide and 7/8 inch thick at the top. 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch thick at the body joint, and just under 26 inches from the nut to the 24th fret with an over all length of 44 inches. I have noticed it has a bit of a sharper more "in your face" tone. I'm not sure if it just that it's new and hasn't warmed up to me yet, but for the music I like, it works great.

What you have described sounds to be what im looking for. I have my Jazz for the stuff we do in standard tuning. I am saling my ESP(35inch)and my(Dean), and I want a 34inch bass thats in your face for the down tuned hard rock songs we do. Also, my ESP is on the heavy side, so weight is a factor since I have a bum back(playing one heavy bass is enough). Thanks for the replies so for, keep them coming.

I was merely suggesting to use a little effort first and use your curiosity to fuel a search on the subject first. Personal experience on the subject at hand is very valuable and makes Talkbass great! I hope he was able to get the info he desired. Not trying to harsh anyone's gig here:cool:

Id suggest you try some Ibanez SR's since you like their necks. Their gonna be slimmer then either warwicks or spectors. What kind of pups do you favor? J or soapbar? As this should have a big impact on ones choices along with playability. Between spectpor and warwick Id go with spector myself due to pup pref, lighter weight and faster to me, necks. Not as slim as Ibanez SR, but still very playable.

Yea, I noticed the nut on the Spector(1.56) to be a little longer than Ibanez SR(38mm). It's down to either a Ibanez SR700 (more of thery're top of the line), or a Spector Legend Classic 4( more of they're bottom of the line). I think for the money the Ibanez has more to offer, but I always wanted a Spector and probably will eventually buy one in the fiture anyway. Right now i'm leaning more towards the Spector, but I change my mind every second it seem's like so who knows.

Haha, play what you want. If I recall correctly, Warwicks before 1990 have slim necks and Warwicks made after 2010 to as well but you rarely see any of them for sale.

I've also played the Spector Legend basses. The necks have a very trapezoidal shape but it was definitely not what I would call thin. They sound good though and would sound even better with Active EMGs as opposed to the HZs.
