BTW, to add my own personal comments... I purchased my V-Amp over the POD not because of price, but I found the V-Amp easier to navigate and sounded just as good. But the biggest selling point to me were those rotary encoders. Why Line6 (as well as any of the other digital modelers out there) didn't pick up on this is a complete mystery to me... Brilliant idea IMO... +1 for Behringer on that one.

I have two guitar player brothers, one with a POD and one with the V-AMP. Though these devices are similar, the one with the V-AMP boguht it because he auditioned both and honestly thought the V-AMP sounded better.

I've been told that Behringers power amp (the one thats 750 watts/channel @ 4 ohms) is the copy of qsc's 2450,but 1/2 the price. Now I use a 2450 on our pa,it works very well,but I think I'll pass on the Behringer. Their made very cheeply (china??) I bought a 2442 mixer,nothing but problems. Also have their crossover;it blew out a channel (permently) on a good Carver amp and damaged speakers.

That's an easy one... Invalid Link Removed. Tech 21 came out with this about 3 years or so before Behringer.

The digital board in the BAM is pretty much the same one that's in the Peavey Transformer modeling guitar amp that was released in 2000. I don't know if that counts...

Before that, the same encoder/LED interface was on the Peavey Transtubefex and Tubefex that came out in the 90s, but chances are, they were not the first to have that interface either. They were technically modeling pre amps, but the catch phrase was not invented then.

I'm not surprised. I figured the chances were slim to none that Behringer had actually pioneered a piece of technology as opposed to "borrowing" it :p
