Sin Gatos, New Mexico. - A rancher in New Mexico is using animal magnetism to tune in ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ The Rancher Jerry Horowitz is using his prize bull Mortimer as an antenna.

“Did you ever notice how your picture would come in better when you put your hand on the antenna? Horowitz says. “Well I just figured meat is meat so I ran the cord out into the barn and tied it to old Mortimer’s horns, and wham I can even see the rhinestones on Pamela’s dress.”
Horowitz says Mortimer gets better reception than other bulls. “Of course I get the best reception when I put foil on his horns.”

This is why your bass strings have to be grounded. Except the effect in that case is in the reverse - your body is picking up radio signals, but they are shooting to ground instead of going to your amp (your body is being used like a partial Faraday cage). If you switched the wires at the jack, you'd be like Mortimer while you were touching the strings, only there wouldn't be a way to tune in to a particular station.
