New build, twice the strings.

Atlansia 2-string? Now, that's an exotic piece. Was it in a store, or did you order one sight unseen?

I ordered on the web, had not tried it before so it was kind of a gamble. But I love the feel and sound of it. And still it was 1/3 of the price what a luthier quoted me for building me a 2 string. I had very good communication with the shop owner and had no fear of being ripped off. It is the bass I love the most of all mine 8 basses.

This was before I even was thinking of building my own bass (a year ago), and now I´m planning my 4th, 5th and 6th build :) Two of those basses are for friends of mine wanting a 2 string bass. This is an addictive and time consuming hobby. It is almost more fun than playing live (had my first gig since May this saturday, place was packed :hyper:. Great experience!).

Crap. I have to remove the paint. And I was nearly finished...

Another shot after trying to rescue it:

Have to repaint. Bugger.
But on the light side, it had a scrape under the clearcoat that I now has sanded away!

Now the bass is repainted. Have put everything together (except connecting the electronics). This was a long build, but I learned a lot!

Some pictures of the finished bass:

And one of my oldest son trying out the bass (he did not want his face on the web):

Maybe I have to change the knobs for some black ones...

Will post soundclip when I have it all wired up!

Well, on to the next projects...
