new build up

:bassist:I have been building guitars almost 2 years and some come out better than others but I am a bassist and have finally come into enough weird parts for a bass buildup,I have a old Univox violin body I am adapting a maple neck with maple fretboard to the body I am using a Yamaha BB series neck.I am now enough understanding of intonation(had some earlier struggles puttin odd neck and bodies together) I painted the body baby blue because my wife has a pink Hofner and I wanted his and hers kind of thing.I also own 2 hofners so I want a different sound I have a bass with EMG pickups I like the sound I have all my other bases covered(no pun intended I have J bass P bass and a few other hollows and solids.I wanted to try Bartolini's I have been almost exclusivly doing Seymour Duncans on almost all the guitars but the Bartolini pickups had good reviews.I guess my question is are these pickups a good choice?I mainly play in the style of blues oldies and classic rock and my originals ape this style of playing I will entertain suggestions of other pickups since the folks out here are really tuned in to gear I know myself whats good but not great and the body will be easier to adapt soapbar style pickups instead ot the usual P style so any suggestions will be considered and I will post pics as soon as I connect the body and neck Thanks
