New Build - VR-1 Ranger Bass

I think the irony is that he made a 3rd page and didn't realize he was going to? Iunno.
Man, it was a long hall but the Ranger Bass is finally done. I had a few delays.
First, I had to stop working on the bass to build this for a friend's son:
Then, my real-company-day-job-business grew by about 20% this year which was awesome for everything except bass-building. Anyway, it is finally done with the exception of straplocks.
The custom pups by John Worrell are unbelieveable. Very versatile. Very beefy but also clear as I want them to be. I only had time for a few clips:
Neck pup only:

Bridge pup only:

Both pups:

Recorded on a Zoom H4n which didn't pick up the subtleties of the tones, the burpiness of the bridge pup for instance. Genz Benz ShuttleMax6.0 into a Bergantino 410 Neo Cab. I will try to get some better clips recorded.

I was going to grain fill completely but then decided to leave some of the grain unfilled for a bit of rustic. It came out OK. It's growing on me.

I agree with you about the pickups. I love John's pickups. Wanna see how much? Look up a couple of lines of text.
