I am building a bass,I have made a bunch of strat type guitars last year but this is only my 3rd bass build I have a Madiera black body routed for a P type pickup and a J type pickup.the neck is Yamaha BB 300 I have to slightly relocate bridge for the scale to work.I read online this was a japanese Guild?I will show pix as it comes along.I had black pickguard and black body,I tried painting the guard baby blue and it looks cool but I might still go to Invalid Link Removed for a real cool pick guard.I have everything but the pots wiring and I do have cheepo P bass pickups I am thinking of Bartolini's or seeing what Seymour has.What is the pickup of favor with you folks.I have my own ideas but the talkbass community is well informed and you might sway me in a different direction.Oh my last build was a Univox violin body.Its a little bigger than a Hof and I am using a clear blue stain on it but on this one it is going to be more time and labor intensive but this Madeira Yamaha is all there short of a loaded guard so what would you put in for Pickups?
