For all those that think Fender's marketting division is screwy... they just reissued Shoreline Gold on a budget instrument! How cool is that!!

Aye, well it is an ugly colour, especially with tort... but at least they made the effort, which is kind of cool.

That black Jazz looks like it could kill off the Classic '60s Jazz if they get their act together.

That P bass is awesome. I buy one, along with a black pick guard to get rid of that fugly tort guard.

I'm not a huge fan of black basses with rosewood fret boards, especially with tort guards. So I'm not all that excited about that one.

It seems like just GC for now. The fender site only lists the 4 current classic vibes.

My local Long and Mcquade has two hanging on the wall, so wouldn't say this model is a GC exclusive.

I don't understand why Squier uses a bridge cover and tugbar on these basses, but not a pickup cover.

Because the routing leaves nothing there for the screw to grab on the treble side.

Not a Squier body, but same difference.

With all due respect, I don’t think that’s intended to be Shoreline Gold. I’ve got a ‘98 MIA Jazz V in Shoreline Gold that’s very different from what’s pictured above. Squier’s Precision Special 5 — which arguably wasn’t even a traditional Precision at all — came a lot closer to the real Shoreline Gold:

I like the look of that gold precision with the tort pg. I would replace the tuners with old style reverse ones, but that's all I would do.

It's great seeing squier head in the right direction with this kind of stuff but it'd be nice to have a stack knob Jazz on the standard model lineup (and mayyybeee ashtrays as well, I can dream can't I?)

I couldn't agree more! I'm sure stack knobs and ashtray's would bring the price up though.

The ashtray's won't fit over the high mass bridge they put on the 60's Jazz, but I'd rather have a standard bridge under the ashtray anyway.

I'm fairly certain it's been discontinued. That link lists it as $0.00, when you change the colour to the fiesta red it switches to $579. Also all of the online retailers I've looked at say it's no longer made.

Would love to be proven wrong, however. I WANTS IT YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

usually like tort but that Shoreline Gold is begging for another colour guard..(imho)

Any new finishes are a great thing for the CVs...hope these (and more) get mainstreamed

That Squier tort looks like a Southwestern themed desktop background on Windows 98.
