What i am VERY curious about is..... Do these lines of Class D Crown amps compare sonically , as Deep, Round and body slam as the older Macro tech amps of equal power? i wish i could do an A/B of the two.. i know people say that all amps sound the same if they are gain matched. But though much experimentation with some major sound reinforcement companies and FOH engineers, I dont find that to be fact.. However they did not AB the crowns..

I have been a huge Crown fan form the late 70s had DC3000s, PSA2, and still have a Crowm MA1200..
If this is as sonically fit as my MA1200, i would have a serious look at it

I know there were successful/ But do you also have experience with the MA1200s and up? They were sledgehammers, Can the Drivecore deliver the same deliberate pummeling that the MA did?

I am currently in need of a larger sized power amp and this new redesign couldn't have come to me at a more perfect time.

I have gotten 5-years of dependable service from my Crown XLS 1000 with zero issues and I expect no less from the new, larger amplifier.

The street prices for the new line remain the same as the former line and come with a handful of welcome product improvements and new functionality. Full details are available on Crown's web site.

Now that CharlieC has made his amp choice hopefully he won't mind if we discuss other similar amps. I see that you have the Crest Pro-LITE 3.0. I'm seriously considering buying one of those. Don't need or want DSP. What was it about the Crest that made you choose it over other lightweight amps?

It is light, powerful, sounds like it should, and has great customer support.

I think all the Pro-Lite are available with or without DSP.
