I watched the skies for six+ months while Pro-Lites were on mysterious backorder nearly everywhere.

In 30+ years Crown has never let me down, their products deliver, and are widely available. Crown customer service has been top-notch, despite me not needing any ever. My engagement with them was simply regarding new products.

Please understand, play whatever makes you happy, but this is a Crown thread for reasons well-earned, IMHO.

To be clear...I'm aware that the Crest Pro-LITE series is available with or without DSP. In fact, if the Crown XLS DriveCore series could be had in a version without DSP that might be my first choice for an inexpensive import amp. I really like my Crown XTi 2000 but around my house, one amp with DSP is enough.

At first, I was not very keen on the notion of having a DSP section in my power amp, but it no longer phases me these days.

Like Ron Popeil used to say, "First you set it, then forget it!"

Kudos to the manufacturers that offer a choice of with or without.

I'm thinking the market trend is soon all power amps are going to ship with DSP's
They don't add the much to the costs, they save a lot of problems, like trying to match levels, or quick eq, and they're really not in the way of anything if you don't want to use it.

Agreed.

One of the "cool" features in the XLS V2 series' DSP is the ability to get internal temperature readings on the display.

I sometimes play through a SansAmp RPM - QSC PLX setup. It's great, but kinda heavy. I have been looking at the new crop of Class D amps to replace the QSC, of which the Crown DriveCore is an obvious candidate.

One of the features that I like about the QSC is the built-in HPF - can be set at 30Hz, 50Hz, or bypassed. I've been playing it at 50Hz lately, but I like having the option to go down to 30Hz. The first-gen DriveCores with the built-in DSP crossovers will only HPF down as low as 50Hz. So I'm really glad to see that (at least according to the documentation) the DriveCore 2 models will go down to 30Hz.

Haven't gigged it yet, but messed with the variable input sensitivity and went from 1.4 to .775 and the only words are holy s--t. Tone Hammer into this, into the 810 Classic is pretty nice.

Yes you can indeed set the HPF on both channels while running the Y-input. You can even set them to different values if you find that to be useful. I currently run both channels at 50 with the Y-input.

so mine arrived today. its my first power amp of this kind. i have the input sensitivity set to high .775, and im going out of my pedals with a regular quarter inch cable into the channel one in Y input mode. im finding i have to have the output volume of my last pedal set really high go get any sound... is this normal? i dont have the option to use the xlr input with my current order of pedals, nor can i use a 3 conductor 1/4" cable. there's a post above that says when you use a regular 2 conductor 1/4" cable you lose some signal strength. just making sure this is operating properly

shwasha - check your pedals are set to send a line level output, not an instrument/mic level output.
I just got an XLS1002 and run it from a Line 6 X3 Live. At first I had the same problem because I was using the XLR out from the X3 to the power amp, before I realised the XLR output was only an instrument level. If you set the output level for the 1/4" output sockets to be line level, it should power the power amp with no issues.
What I do actually, is run the X3 to a small mixer and then on to the power amp from the mixer Aux out. This is so I can use the mixer to control what I hear in my in-ear monitors (I also get the other guitars and vocal coming into the mixer on different chanels).
