So my buddy who is a computer whiz/musician built me a pedal and I got it today. I wanted compression and an auto wah type sound and a little fuzzy distortion. I haven't been able to plug it in yet and test it out but here's a pic.

That's looks awesome! Did you use standard circuits for the dirt, comp and wah? Do they go in order of appearance? Tell us everything, Lets hear it!
Well I'm not sure about that. I'm very new to effects. Ill ask the guy who made it. The way I understood it was my signal would go through it like always unless I engage the effect. There's a little light above each on/off switch that will tell you which are engaged. So I'm not really sure what order or what have you. It's all new to me. I'm trying to read as much as possible about it. I've been having ttouble lately with my low end being way louder than my upper end. So I'm really excited about the compression. Just gotta play with it I guess.
There's a lot of interest for envelope filters with fuzz, if you could get the specs on the pedal I'm sure you could flip a few of 'em on here for your buddy.
Ok I asked for some clarification from my buddy. The input is in the right when looking at the pedal. He said it's a true bypass if the effect is not on then the signal goes straight through to the output. Now. He said you can use all three independently or you can if you use auto wah and then add compression to make the auto wah sound better.then you can add fuzz for a more funky sound. Or you can just use fuzz. Or just compression only for a clean sound. I hope this makes sense. It still doesn't to me.
Idk what you mean by Gut shot?Basically the way I understand it is they can be used independently or if you use all three it will go in line i.e. auto wah only. Or auto wah compressed or auto wah compressed with fuzz or compression then fuzz. Or auto wah and fuzz no comp. or compression only. Idk I'm still learning about effects. Haven't used them in 14 years if playing so its all new to me.

My friend here has been telling me how you guys were talking about this pedal that I built for him, so I wanted to chime in and give you all the technical skinny.
The three pedals are based on the following circuits (in this order):
1) Mad Professor Snow White Auto-Wah
2) Valve Wizard's Engineer's Thumb compressor
3) EHX Big Muff Pi - Civil War Russian versions
They are honestly all guitar related effects, but they sound great on bass guitar too.
All of these circuits were built based on layouts on www.sabrotone.com. If any of you guys dabble in DIY effects, go check out that site. The owner has posted a ton of various cool layouts.
I personally have no sound clips, but the auto wah sounds really natural and funky, and the compressor sounds transparent but ballsy. And of course, the Big Muff sounds like a Big Muff, lol. I sat and jammed out with this pedal for a good few hours before passing it on to my friend... To be honest, I had a hard time letting it go because I liked the way it sounded of it so much. I am tempted to build another one just for myself.

@ icecycle66: Thanks for the compliment! Small needle nose pliars come in handy for bending leads cleanly. This was actually my first strip board build, so I took my time and made double sure to cut the right traces and put everything in the right place.
But yes, the little board between the wah and compressor switches is a power distribution board. It is just a piece of strip board with resistors to power the LEDs and jumpers going to the +9v traces on the boards. I figured it would be easier than attaching all of the +9v wires to the DC jack.

Ok so I plugged it in tonight to my peavy amplink through my phone so I could use my headphones. All my gear is heavy and loaded right now and it's raining. Anyway. The wah is super funky think Bootsy baby. The compressor really lets me get a better tone and a more consistent tone. The "Fuzz" is rock solid in your face. So many different sound combos I can't stay in one place with the dials. I never knew pedals could be so fun. Can't wait to hook it up to my amp and cab and really hear it.
I would be willing to build some more of these if anyone is interested. I am thinking $350.
