New dead strings?

I really like my strings deep & dead, I've used Rotosound Heavy Roundwounds (swing 66) for a while now as they meet my demands, although I rarely change my strings

The problem is I recently snapped a string and went out and bought some replacements, but they won't die I've been playing them in for about 3 months now but they're still quite bright. I don't remember it taking this long, so is there a quick and easy way to deaden strings?

Rotos die on me in less than a month! Just keep playing the crap out of em.

If you want strings to die majorly fast, grab some butter and smear it all over the strings. Read that on some other thread that dealt with deadening strings.

GHS boomers die pretty fast for new strings....but why not try flats?
