Pets ain't cheap sometimes. Our rescue doggo cost as much as a cheap bass, so I was OK with that.
I was surprised to find out how much $$ my kids racked up in bills for the dogs they each got from a humane society. After adoption fees, shots, license, microchip, spay and neutering, around $500 and up. Yikes.
I can't imagine how much my dad paid for the two great pyrenes mix dogs he got in February either. They were a bonded pair so he had to take both. It was great timing to get them just before the world closed down since he lives alone. And with a 70 acre property he certainly has room for two 90 lb pups.
Ain't that the truth!
A few years ago when I adopted my cat it was a $40 fee, and that included everything, even a small bag of cat food.
A few weeks ago we looked into adopting a dog for my daughter, and the fee would have come to around $450! That put the kibosh on that idea.
This morning, he was having some play time and I opened a video of somebody playing bass on my phone. He stopped and stared at the phone for about a minute of bass playing. What's better than a dog who loves bass?
I wish this dog cost $450. Breeders have lost their minds with some of these prices. Then again, they drove him from Ohio to MD, included all his initial vaccinations and they have 24-hour support for any questions. So maybe the extra costs are worth it to get a healthy and well-adjusted pet.Ain't that the truth!

I've always thought that any dog that finds a home & is cared for has won the K9 lottery & many of them, especially rescues know that.. The largest % never get that far..
