How is Black Like Sunday? I never even listened to Tape Head to be honest. Dogman is my favorite...I love the dark, chunky grooves on that one.

Black Like Sunday's good. As it Tape Head - I've been listening to Tape Head today, and it's a real grower. Mr Bulbous is very good too. Manic Moonlight I'm still working on... King's X are so good, if I don't get an album I'll assume it's me that needs to change, not them...

That seems more like a commentary on Sam Taylor and Atlantic to me. Especially the creative differences between Sam and the band.

Cigarettes sounds like somebody in drug rehab.

I'm listening to "Ear Candy" right now, and "Run" clearly expresses his struggles with his spirituality.

I've never heard that said, and would suggest that bringing it up on a public forum is liable to lead to an 'urban myth' that Doug's a smack-head... be careful what you write in places where people half-read stuff...

You're right, Steve, that was in poor taste. I used to hang out at several King's X forums, and it was bandied around there quite a bit.

I will remove that part of the post.

Doug is one of my all time favs. Great tone, feel and groove. Then there is that singing thing..!!!!

Doug is also one of my favorite players/singers - his style fits the heavy music of King's X yet it has a great deal of soul. I used to think that pick players couldn't play until I heard Doug (and Anthony Jackson).
