New Dunlop Bass Fuzz...

Well, I saw the one with Chris chaney, maybe it was the demo... Because I heard the samples they got up and those sounded quite a bit more pleasing to my ear. I already own the El Grande and I actually quite like it. I also own two other MXR's; a Carbon Copy delay and the Analog Chorus... And I must say so far I have not been let down in the least. I'll be sure to try the Bass Fuzz Deluxe when I'm at Long & Mcquade again. I'd still like to hear user samples though.
The sound sample for "Tool Shed" would be Scott and a Wal. Like I said...no slouch, either.

I liked the "Tool Shed" sample quite a bit. That's the one that makes me want to try that pedal... Do you know if it's hostile with Active basses?
As I pointed out, Scott recorded that with his Wal...and Wals have the highest output I've ever heard on a bass.
I'd know, I've owned 7 of them over the years.
This looks very promising! Sounds great, I like a blended fuzz and am using the EHX BBM right now. It has a blended option but doesn't work the same as this and you can't blend very well and still keep the overall level inline with other pedals. The MXR seems to solve that problem. I'm looking forward to trying one out.

I like the Chris demo myself. What I can never stress enough is to keep an open mind and try them out. Even though I love it, everybody's going to differ. I've loved fuzzes that other people on this board loathed. Everyone, at the end of the day, is going to have their own unique recipe of what a great fuzz is.
I agree, EHX screwed up the BBM design a bit there - but there is a solution: Bass Big Muff volume mod - TalkBass Forums
Im digging the tone-down sounds personally, and thats what'd sell it to me. Ususally 'tone down' sounds are a necessity with muffs and tonebenders just to keep the low end, but in this case i really think it works for me but unless it sounds better than my sovtek tall font (it may do) im in no rush. I think we'll be getting them in the UK around March.
All the El Grande haters may now breathe a sigh of relief. I just got official word that they're going to be discontinued. I guess the Bass Fuzz Deluxe made short work of that guy.

Well FexEx just got me for 28 bucks for 'brokerage' fees, and I've stayed up all day after working night shift just to make sure I got this, but it's here. I won't be sleeping this afternoon though, the girlfriend is out of the house and I'm going to be putting this through its paces!

Mine arrives tomorrow. Will let you know. Was not impressed by the el grande. I like a "smooth" fuzz. Don't know how else to describe it. Love my Devi Ever Bass Fuzz but wish it had adjustable gain level. Sometimes ballz out is just too much. Been using the BBM and like it but like others the way they blend in the clean bugs me and because of the size of it I had to kick the Devi off the board. Looking forward to having both the MXR and the Devi on the board together. Will be up early and eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Will try and record some samples for y'all. Sorry for rambling but am a little excited.
Got the pedal yesterday and am digging it so far. Sounds similar to the BBM but brighter to my ears. Link Removed Let me know what you think. Boring little blues riff but wanted something repetitive so as to show of the pedal, not my playing.
Each section is 8 measures and was played on my jazz bass with both pickups on full and tone slightly rolled off. First 8 measures is my clean tone recorded with an EBS Multi-Comp and a Tech 21 VT Bass direct into Line 6 POD Farm & RiffWorks software with no amp, speaker or effects selected.
Second section adds the MXR BFD with tone @ 50%, fuzz @ 50%, dry @ 50% and wet @ 75%
Third section is the same setting with the dry @ 0%. I know this has been a question before in this thread. As far as I can tell there is no loss of low end with the dry signal turned off.
Fourth and fifth section are the same as second and third but with the fuzz turned all the way up.
Also let me know if there is anything specific you'd like to hear. Particular settings? Different basses or amp models? Have the full bass expansion pack from Line 6 Pod Farm and can pick anything you want from there. Also have a P bass, P+J bass, EBMM, Alembic, EB-0 etc.
