new EB COBALT srings

Does anyone online have these in stock? My order from GC has been moved back 4 times now.....getting a little fed up. I cannot find them anywhere.

I did pm slapinfunk to see if he has any.

Ok, I'll check back in a few. Heading outside to look for 4 leaf clovers, pots of gold and unicorns.

Sounds like an interesting string. What do they look like? Is cobalt a somewhat diff color then nickel or steel? From what users are saying, looks like lack of growl compared to rotos would be the one thing I woundlt like abouth them. Unless they substituted a little more low bass articulation like dr neons do in a way.

Not much different in color at all. That's the roto's on my highway one, cobalt E lying between the E and A. Sorry, used the iPhone instead of the Nikon. Found out this morning I'm giving birth to kidney stone(s). Hopefully soon, wish me luck.

Well, after 25 years of blue steel stainless on all of my basses,(spector & fender) I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.I have had a set on backorder for 3 weeks online-as far as I can tell, the only place you can get them is to walk into a G.C. (I hate that store ),and maybe they'll have some left...anyway,I put a set of 45-65-80-100 on my Spector legend custom, and I was blown away by the added fullness.without tweaking any e.q.,I found great highs, along with a fuller but clearer low end..I may be a changed man...lets see how long they last...but for now:a BIG thumbs up

Tried them again, and these are not for me. Normally I'd just throw the strings in recycling but if someone wants a slightly used set of .45-.100, first person to claim them here in the thread (US address only) gets them. Should be plenty of string left to put on anything other than a reverse headstock.

IIRC, both EB and DR strings are wrapped so you can use them on 35" scale instruments or 34" with through body. I think your concern is on the E string, will there be enough of the thinner part of the string to fit into the tuner, correct?

That's pretty much it. I'd use them on a 34 for sure, but this is 32, which seems like a potential issue for the trimming.
