New EB Cobalt Strings

I still prefer hi beams, but they last about the same. A month and a half for me is 6 4hr practices, and about 3 2 HR practices. So I would consider that good. Most others go dead long before that (to me) and I like em zingy. These strings are pretty cool, ill use them again in the future.

Damn that's all your DR's last?! I practice about 3 hours a week and gig for three 45 minute sets every Friday and Saturday and my DR'a will last an easy 3 months!

I have about 4 sets I rotate. I made a string cleaner and change them out every other practice and before a show. I like em zingy. Once they lose that they go to my son for a few more months. 4 sets (high beams) last me about 8 mo. that way. Wich is far better than other brands. Most others last 3-4 practices and their about done.

Play time wise, if you do the math its about the same as yours. Usually around 45 hrs a set. We just play longer but less times.

I use EB Cobalt and they are the best strings I've used yet! They sound good, feel good, and play well with high tonality! Their bright and come across well and strong with active pick-ups. If you want a good solid punch sound! Well these are your strings! Enjoy!

I've been meaning to try the cobalts on my SBMM basses and finally got a set today. I've been using regular slinkys and heard good things about the cobalts.

Literally took them off after a half an hour and put the regular slinkys back on. Way too bright and totally lacked mid-range punch. I even did a couple of quick recordings to make sure my ear wasn't playing tricks on me. Night and day and I'm really disappointed I was hoping for the opposite.

2 months ago I put them up on my EB Reflex Gamechanger, and still it sounds great. Got lots of trebles but you can easily control it through the preamp. Cool sounding. The only thing that I don't like is it gets kind of dirty/discolor after a week use. You know that greeny color on copper products, likewise this set turns to gray. But it doesn't effect the original sound.

This is my only gripe with these strings. I've had them on my american standard p for about 2 weeks now and i noticed that they've tarnished already. Sound is still good though. Brightness and punch is still present.

For today it's almost 4 months i've them on and still sound great. Normally I change strings every 3 months b'coz i liked the seasoned strings tone. But these wil last a another month or so for sure.

I've had them on my fretless Jazz since they were first available. Never had a string break, and they still punch like the Hulk. I don't play nearly as much as many here, so that may have something to do with it, though I was rehearsing for three hours at a stretch three or four times a month when I first put them on.
