Didn't see any mention of it here... from http://www.ebs.bass.se I don't see any mention of this on their US distributor page, http://www.brooklyngear.com , so I'm assuming it won't be out here for a while yet. I'll drop them a line and update here when I hear back. Looks cool! I'm a sucker for two channel preamp pedals, I use an MXR M-80 just now so I can go back and forth between normal and slap eq's.
I'm a big fan of EBS (duh!), and am glad to see this...it does read like a description of the new Radial Engineering Bass Bone, though... http://www.tonebone.com/tbone-bassbone.htm
Anybody see or hear this at NAMM recently? Brooklyn Gear showed a prototype at Summer NAMM last year, so I wonder what the holdup is?!? If my Euro conversion was right, list for the pedal is about $450 in Sweden
Adam Levy of Brooklyn asked me to stop by the EBS Booth but when I went by I didn't have time to check it out even tho I wanted to they seemed to have a descent amount on hand at last weeks winter NAMM show.
Has anyone tried this one yet? My local dealer has one. I might buy it under their return policy and see how it works with my rig as a preamp. Ive heard from another guy that it works great for recording. The studio engineers where really impressed with his sound at a recording.
I'm interested as well, it's everything i ever wanted from a D.I. box!! No, seriously: Is it full analogue or does it have some digital component?? Bump for this one... Laterz
It is available. And it sounds great. I had one for a week but returned it. I want something rack mountable. Might get one for recording later. Really versatile. Superb warm tubey sounds to Hitech slap sounds. A little hard to use but once you lern how to use all the controls it´s quite easy to get the sound you want. Try one! It kills the Sansamp Bass driver IMO.
I am very intrested in this stompbox/preamp DI. Can you say me the price? And can you say me if the distortion effe ct can sound like a big muff? I really love the distortion of my fafner, and I think it s quite the same, but is there this other type of character?
I´ve never tried a Big Muff so I cant comment on that. It sounds much like the TD650 and Fafner overdrive to me. The price in Sweden is about 350.
I called Bass Northwest, since they have the MicroBass II listed on their website, and they said it's $695!! Dang! $995 retail. Guess I'm gonna stick with my Sansamp for a while. I could almost buy 5 SABDDI's for the price of that EBS thing. Now that would give me some sound options!
Yes, but I was referring to there being no mention of it here on talkbass back at the time (December '03) If it's really going to be $700 then I'll pass for now.
I will buy it at 350 euros, but 750 is to much for my student lifestyle! Does somebody know a similar preamp pedal with overdrive and real bypass?
