My GF and I believe in 2nd chances. We're finally settling into the new house and life together. I feel Like I myself have been given a 2nd chance, but that is another story. With this in mind we decided to do a dog rescue from a local shelter/pound. We wanted to give an adult a 2nd chance. Well, her name when we met her was Canela, that's spanish for cinnamon I believe. I didn't want to keep explaining that to people, so I changed it to something similar. I also have a habit of naming my dogs after TV/Movie characters. I've had a piitie named Rocky Balboa and 2 bassets named Buford T. Justice & Otis Dey. My new girl's new name is Carmela Soprano. She's a pure breed, red nose pittie, that weighs 80 lbs. She is a big moosh. We don't think she's been abused or fought, we are sure she's had at least a couple of litters of pups. She's about 3, and very sweet. She craves affection, I'm guessing she was mainly ignored. Just used as a baby factory, then thrown away.

Major props to you, buzzbass, for rescuing an adult canine.
So glad to see she went to a loving home such as yours, and may you be blessed with a great companion for many years to come.

My son just bought a pitbull puppy, and it grows noticeably every week. We're guessing he'll end up being in the 70-75 lb range someday soon as well, similar to yours. Here he is from the 'spoiled dog' thread..
