New Fender American Percision Ultra II.

I have two Fender basses, my more
recent Jazz from 2013.
Am. Std. Jazz. Superb craftsmanship
on all the hardware, body, frets, neck,
etc.
Please send yours back. They are
capable of doing much better than
that.

Wow, that's not just a little bit off....
That's ridiculous. Back it would go if it were me. I wouldn't want to attempt to fix that--to have to put new holes in that bass 'cause they majorly eff'd up, no way.
Well, the next guy who gets it will only find out it has two extra holes in it if he or she ever replaces the stock bridge. You don't think Fender is going to trash it, do you?

Come on Fender, I paid 2 grand for this. 🙄 Your QA sucks.
The problem here is I ordered this bass and was hoping for something that looked nice and played nice. Every instrument has its own feel, sound and color.
This is a beautiful bass, sounds fantastic and I love the paint job, I don't want to send it back and I'm quite capable of repairing this myself.

That's RIDICULOUS. If it were me, the instrument would go back with the regret of inconvenience, but with ZERO misgiving of that being the right approach to send it back... no matter what my repair skills might be. Good luck with it. Sorry.

Who else went to go see if their bridges were properly installed straight?
Ha, yes I did and as I expected it was straight.
I'd have to say that the American Ultra II Precision is my favourite bass of all time. Best playing, best sounding and I seldom go into active mode.
I've had a number of Fender basses and have had none of the QC problems often report from the States. I wonder whether more thorough inspections for export models reduces the incidence of this type of complaint over here?

Maybe you could just hold it at an angle and nobody would notice?

Reminds me of the old joke about the man who buys an ill-fitting suit, but the clothier convicts him that if he shrugs to the left, and lifts his arms a bit, then hunches over, it fits fine. He walks out of the shop wearing the suit and a couple driving by see him. Woman remarks "Look at that poor man, how bent up he is" and the man replies "Yes, but doesn't that suit fit him great!"

That is about as nice a 3-tone burst as I've seen.
THIS!
that's the only reason I'm repairing it myself. I looked at it a lot of them, you can look through individual ones on reverb, I went to all three Music Centers from Buffalo to Rochester New York. And ended up ordering this one from a place I'm going to leave unnamed because they had nothing to do with this and did great by me. When it arrived it was the most perfect Sunburst I've seen yet, I've played it out once and it sounds fantastic. I'm keeping it because I know each individual instrument is different. I'm very much happy with this, it won't be a hard fix.

They are. I tried an Ultra a year and a half ago. Whoever designed that high mass bridge should be fired. The assembler that installed that bridge needs to go as well.
