Double Bass "new" Fender Bassman 100

I am in need of a budget-minded amp for touring with the upright ('64 Kay). Size does matter, as all of you know, the smaller the better. I can get a sweet deal on a recent Fender Bassman 100. 10" speaker, 100 watts, kickback cabinet, XLR in front, no compressor
I have ran a search on this and found some pretty encouraging statements. Any recent experiences, positive or otherwise, with this amp?

I'd look for a good used GK MB150S, series III if possible. You should be able to find one in the $300 to $400 range. The GK is an all around much better amp and much higher quality than the Fender Bassman 100. The MB150 is also very compact and reasonably light.

I've been using a GK MB150 for the past few months, mostly with my BugBass EUB. My amps also include a Clarus/Wizzy and a WM12, but for sound and convenience combined, the GK combo keeps coming to my small gigs and practices, mostly 3 piece blues without drums.

I was skeptical that it would be gig-useful, but it certainly has been a good investment. I bought mine used needing some repairs, sent it to the factory and got it back with a new power supply and new cabinet.

I think it's time to sell the WM12 that I've had for quite a few years.
