I just got this on my Facebook TL: Fender Unveils Limited Edition Made In Japan Basses

Many of these models have resurfaced at CME after disappearing from Fender's site and elsewhere, including Traditional and Hybrid 50s and 60s P and J, and fretless J. No sign of the 70s J.

Basswood bodies and basic hardware. Aren't these basically Squier basses with Fender pickups for $1k? I'd take a Squier for $350. I do like the U shaped necks on these 60s models though.
