Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I have been here a while, but just decided to open an account. I started playing drums around three years old and my father used to let me sit in with his band early on. Once he noticed that I was getting really good on drums and decided we couldn't have two drummers in the family he bought me my first bass around 12 years old. (1997 ish). It was a Dean Edge which I still have now.
Myself and my brother joined his band a couple years later, which consisted of my father on drums, me on bass, my brother on lead guitar/ vocals, my two sisters/ vocals, brother in law/ rhythm guitar, cousin/ keys.
We played different venues, festivals, etc over the years but once we were all of age we started booking the night clubs, bars, casinos almost all local which was around the same time I became a father and decided to take a step back from music to focus on my kids. This was about six years ago and I am just getting back into it the last three months or so. All i can say is I've missed playing music. I have the Dean Edge although a beginner bass, I will never part with because of the sentimental value. I have a MIM Fender P bass deluxe w/ active J bass pickup I purchased new back in 2009 I held on to. And i just purchashed my first Jazz bass. American Ultra. Had both fenders recently set up and frets leveled and I am playing my first official gig in a couple weeks (Christmas party in New Orleans. I am going to try to attached a few picks of my guitars.
