Methinks that 5 strings run counter to the terms "vintage" and "classic," and that may be the reason why we do not see 5ers in these lines. I do see where Squier could possibly do a "vintage vibe" line where a 5er would possibly work. The vast majority of players out there are still on fretted 4's, if what I see out in gigland correlates with what appears in a poll question in the Basses forum, and Squier's market looks to remain the young (read: poor) up & coming player. Don't get me wrong, I think that Squier has really turned their image around, and is the best budget line going right now (and by "budget" I mean sub-$500 average price; the competition is vastly different and more populous in the $500-800 price range, where I annoint the G&L Tribute line as being the best value).

that's kind of a let down. i came in here expecting a whole barage of new squiers, like the new schecter thread. but no...only a refin of the cv p bass which i've already seen.

All natural...I'd like to see maple neck, ash body or veneer ash top like on the VM Precision SB bass, but all natural with white guard should be in the mix...dy.
