Nice looking new late 50's cv50P . A Poor man version of Am Original 50P. Wow,Truss rod adjust on neck heel side..... But, the knobs, pickguard screws, truss rod hole on pickguard just look like bad Photoshop skill thing...
Basses in general have gone up. I'm a big game bargain hunter but I've been on the bench for quite some time. This Squier is a Bad Mamajama!!!! 057912
Nice looking bass. Wish they would offer something with a deeper D shaped neck, seems everything is “slim” or “modern” C nowadays. I’d buy 2 of these if that were the case.
I made the mistake of changing my location on the Fender website to Japan so I could ogle the MIJ Precisions. Their Traditional line all have U-shaped necks, whether the nuts are 40mm or 42mm or 43mm. So now I know that what I really want (a P with a U-shaped 40mm neck) exists .... but I can't have it. Am I happier for knowing this?
Dr. Cheese, these modern Squiers are killin’ it! I own a Paranormal Jazz Bass ‘54 (China) and a Classic Vibe 60s P (Indonesia) and they both are excellent instruments. Planning to pick up the medium scale Classic Vibe Jaguar for a little mod project. Here is a photo I grabbed from my instagram: I actually ended up selling that Am Pro Precision on the right.
I don't know how things work in North America but the CME exclusive Shell Pink Broncos were widely available in Europe from regular stores. So i hope this P bass makes its way over here. I don't need another P and I'm not a fan of sunbursts but this one speaks to me like the flying head speaks to Sean Connery in Zardoz.
We’ll if two tone SB isn’t your thing, it’s also available in white blonde. Squier Classic Vibe Late '50s Precision Bass White Blonde w/Gold Anodized Pickguard As for the knobs, truss rod adjustment, screws and any other oddities regarding the instrument’s appearance, could it be these are not photos of actual completed instruments? Being a CME exclusive, perhaps they just reached agreement with Fender on what the specs of the instrument would be. Fender kicked out quick pictures (Photoshopped?) of what the finished product will look like and CME posted those pics to start the pre-order process. Being a P bass based on several preciously released models and a Squier, is it possible their isn’t a need for prototypes and other R&D steps they might take when developing a more expensive model. Hence, a wonky picture. That said, I don’t personally have need for another P bass. But if I did……
