New gear day! Got my Focusrite 2i2 from Sweetwater!!! Yay!!!

If PT is your first experience with any DAW I would better advice to go for Reaper, it is free for an amount of time and if you decide to buy the price it's absolutely a steal ($60).
Apart from all that it is totally unrestricted unlike PT.

2. I get Sweetwater's candy gimic, but what is it with them and their antique, fusty Bit o' Honey? I always feel like my new gear was shipped from great-grandma's house. I'm waiting for them to switch up their ye-olde-timey game with some Mary Janes, sassafras bites, or circa 1920s saltwater taffy.

I know, I am trying to decide on what to do with software. I have been using Studio One 3 Pro for quite a awhile. I don’t use everything in it. The upgrade costs are not too bad so I kept doing the upgrades.
Now, I am really curious about PT. My nephew is a Breklee grad and is encouraging me to use PT because he can help me. I looked at Reaper and the basic Studio One would be good too. But my curiosity is leading me to PT. I am at least going to try it.
I would like to note that I have been using the Firestudio Mobile with FireWire for years and I am switching to USB now. That is why I bought the 2i2. Plus, I wanted to try a new interface brand.
Finally got it all setup and everything works. Tried a test recording in PT and no hiccups. Finally something that works right!

Using 2i2 for my home recordings. Added some monitors since computer speakers didn't have enough range. Did a couple of bass tracks, with Reaper, for a singer/songwriter, which he sent to his producer. They were good enough to use so it saved me making a trip to the studio.

I use GarageBand and will upgrade to Logic when the time comes. I think half the point of buying a Mac is the ability to use their software which is inexpensive and good. For anything more 'serious' I'll go to a pro producer.
One great deal is Focusrite releases plugins all the time for those who own their hardware. This time it's a version of Positive Grid Bias Amp with a coupon if you want to upgrade.
This is a great way to try Bias Amp and any of the other plugins Focusrite has bundled to give away with their hardware interfaces. This is a great added bonus
