Hi I recently bought a gk 1001 rb and cab it seems the stress light comes on and sounds distorted I don't know much about ewes but I tried the one s in the manual I go for a kinda prominent sound a little dampened but like to hear a good slap and pop I guess it's a combo of bottom end and top end but I'm struggling could some one give me some pointers or some settings they use. Also I'm thinking of buying a zoom b2 would this improve my sound

Do you mean the clip light? Is the clip light always on? If it is always on then the amp is damaged.

If memory serves, the "clip" light on a 1001 is before any of the controls (except the "pad" button) and isn't affected by gain or EQ settings.
It will almost always blink on when you slap/pop notes.

What speaker cabinet are you using? My guess is that, unless you're using radical gain or EQ settings, the distortion is coming from the speaker cabinet. A 1001 is capable of stressing almost any typical cabinet. Especially if the 4/5 button is depressed.

Turn up the "Contour" knob if you want a slap/pop tone.

wcriley is absolutely correct, the clip detector light is before any amp control. The only thing that sets it off is your bass or effects between your bass and the amp input. It comes on to warn you that you are about to clip the input stage, not that it is clipping. If your B string sets it off with normal pluck, your pickup height is too close to the strings or you have an active bass with too much bass boost dialed in.

Also, where are the EQ controls set on your bass? If you've got all of the knobs turned up all the way that's something to address as well.
Thanks I did some recording tonight and the sound guy got me a good sound he turned me down and changed some settings back to a more normal but I would like to turn up a bit and I changed my cab because I thought it was my cab but there gk cab didn't sound great either I think ill put the pickups down a bit and I do have all my knobs up so ill take that into account but tomorrow Ill play around with it and take a photo but some how I wish you could here it. In saying that I did get a sweet sound and was more than impressed
