Double Bass New Glockenklang cab

only one 8"? I don't think that will hold in a medium to loud band situation.

even one 10" or one 12" will not always be enough in a band.

Actually, you can use a single 8" as long as the band's volume isn't LOUD and it's a good design. Granted the 10's and 12's are going to be less likely to "bottom out" than the 8" driver but they can work in certain situations. A cabinet with 2x8 " drivers is works great with DB and even EB.

This cab appeared on the German side of their website last summer, and has still to appear on the english side (under products). It is classified as part of their Bass Line set of products: Bass Art Classic Head/Pre, Bugatti power amp, Acoustic Art MKIII cabinet, Bass Art Classic MKII cabinet. These are the finest products Glock makes, and the Bass Art Classic and Acoustic Art Cabinets are outstanding. So, by association I'd guess that the 1X8 is a pretty fine little cab, and great for DB. They list the frequency rance from 35 - 18.5 kHz, so unless you have a 5-string double bass, or an extesnion on your E-string it would probably handle the low notes just fine.

Have at it, and tell us all about it!

It seems Glockenklang made a new 1x8" cab, designed for acoustic instruments. Anyone seen/tried it yet?
I wonder if it's any good with DB.
