Hey all, making my introductory post before I jump right in to revealing my ignorance. Been playing for a bit under 3 years. Always been a huge fan of music, but never really learned an instrument outside of dinking around. Finally picked up a bass at 39 since my daughter got a guitar for Christmas and I figured we could play together. She didn't stick with it, but I had already decided to commit, so I've been playing since, jamming with some people, and just recently joined a band (we haven't gigged yet, but we've got two songs written across two practices).
