Thank you. I did try to acquire those that not only appealed to me, but those that had so value as well.
Not to mention, things were rough in general for people in their mid-30s back then.
I, too, own seven basses, but I didn't purchase them all in the same year...via my immense deductive reasoning skills, I have come to the conclusion that you are in a better financial state than am I...and now I shall bid GOOD DAY TO YOU, SIR!!

Well, ya done good I'd say! I've got 15 and I'm quite jealous of a few of thoseHere is a quick snap shot of what I have
I picked up a bass for the first time with no prior musical training last April, so it's been just a smidge over a year for me. Great fun, isn't it?
I only have 4 basses, though. I'm GASing pretty hard for #5, though (Ray34 black ash), but we'll see.
However, I am up to 11 pedals, not counting tuners.

Want to take bass collecting/ hunting to the next level, consider building/assembling one! Give Warmoth, MJT, Stratosphere, etc a gander. Many people here have the unique strain of gas: building “parts basses,” and many have put together some very fine instruments. It’s fun, you get to customize, you learn a lot about the bass and how to maintain it, and it’s unique to you. Here are all my basses, all assembled from parts, all sound and feel excellent
