Hello gals and guys. I just found this website watching a equipment review on youtube and the guy mentioned this site.
I started playing bass at 16 yrs old with a Fender jazz copy back then. While in the army I found a Peavey (can't remember the model) at one of the local pawn shops. I bought it and thrashed around with it and an old Sun head/cabinet. By the way I was with the 82nd Airborne Division 307th engineers if there are any guys here who may have served. That was from 1987 to Sept 1st 1990.
Before I left Bragg I pawned off that Peavey and thought I wouldnt want to play anymore. I came home back to northeast Ohio and was one day in Warrensville Heights near my national guard armory and found a Sams Music. I walked in and immediately saw a Peavey Unity series 4 string in natural finish. I had to have it. I put a down payment on it and after some time I finally had it. Bought an Ampeg head/cabinet and was once again thrashing away.
Long story short I wound up selling the Unity and Ampeg. I am currently looking at a Peavey Cirrus BXP. I really like the looks and I also like the reviews this bass is getting on different websites. Where I am confused is what type of amp I should be looking to buy. I am not playing in a band so a small amp would be nice for the house. But, once I start playing again I know I am going to want something larger than just a small practice amp. I would not mind spending about $750 or so on a amp/head/cabinet if anyone has any recommendations.
Thanks for any tips and look forward to talking here on the site.
