Hi all, another new guy here (from Belgium)
The name's Jerry, 20 years old, and i've been playing the bass since late 2007 - early 2008 (don't realy remember when I exactly started
)
I first started playing guitar when I was about 10 or 11 and did that for a good while, taking lessons, jamming with my cousin, making up songs and whatnot.
I was (and am) realy into heavy metal and so, at one point, Metallica came into the picture. It didn't take me long to get to the good stuff (remember, this was already in the post-St. Anger era) and I found myself listening to Kill 'em All.
One track in particular stood out to me for some reason, but I couldn't put my finger on it at first. So I listened to it again, and again, and again. And after a couple more times I found it, I heard it, realy quite quiet at the start of the song "bass solo, take one"...bass solo...bass...Holy ****! Thats played one a BASS, screw my guitar, I'm getting myself a bass!
It was ofcourse '(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth' the amazing bass solo by the great Cliff Burton, that is what realy inspired me to go out and get myself a bass.
A while afther that, in the summer of 2008, I joined my first real band (Kingstone) together with my brother and 2 of his friends, in witch I am still today.
And just last february I started playing in a second band (Gangrene) afther their bassist quit.
So, thats about a short summary of how this whole bass thing got started for me.

It's an Ashdown Little Bastard with an ABM-115 Cab and a MAG-410 cab.
Before the Bastard I had (and still have) a used Ashdown ABM-300 (no Evo or anything, just ABM) but it realy had seen better days. I played gigs with it for around 3 years and finaly decided it was time to upgrade. so just 2 weeks ago I went for a trip to the Music Store in Köln (Germany) to test out some new Amps.
I eventualy narrowed it down to 2 choises, the Bastard and the new Ashdown CTM-100. I ended up buying the Little Bastard because it distorted more cleanly (if thats even possible, it don't know how else to put it ) and because of the price difference of about 600 euro's. Now I do have some concerns about it being just 30 watt's, if it will handle a gig propely, but it sounded pretty loud in the store over an ABM-115 & 410. I've got some shows comming up in May, so I guess I'll soon find out. And if it's not loud enough that gives me an exuse to buy the CTM anyway and keep the Bastard as a practice amp, so it's kinda win-win as far as I can see 
My current bass is an LTD-EC414Fm, witch I love very dearly, but is does weigh in at about 45 tons
I also have an Ibanez GAX-B, my first bass.
Guitar wise I still have my first guitar, a Sunn Mustang 'by fender' witch you can see in the picture, it's realy quite a piece of crap
I also have an acoustic Stagg guitar and a Fender Standard Telecaster I bougt about 6 months ago to have a proper guitar to play again (I sold my good Ibanez to buy my LTD about 2 years ago)
Outside of music my other big hobby is cars

And to pay for all this I work at a lawnmower repair shop
That's about all there is to say, I'll try to get some proper pictures made of all my gear and post 'em here.
