Hi there, I'm primarily a guitarist/drummer.
Been playing a good few years now and have collected a load of related gear over the years.
A few years ago a mate gave me a cheap Encore P bass copy, I have another mate who is a great bass player and actually makes guitars and superb basses, who set the Encore up for me, stuck in a set of old Kent Armstrong pickups, CTS pots and orange drop cap, and I'd been noodling on that recently.
I've decided to give bass a proper go, so have a EBMM Bongo HH 4 waiting to be picked up, just had a TC BG250 112 delivered as well as a little Zoom MS-60B for silent practice.
I play guitar in a couple of bands and we practice at my house as I have the drums, PA and guitar amps already set up there, so the BG250 will do as an amp for the real bass player so he doesn't have to lug his Trace rig over to mine each time.
Just learning some basics at the minute, but finding playing with fingers (right hand) hard. I've always played guitar with a pick thanks to a decent finger injury in my youth and early onset arthritis in my finger joints. But I'll persevere with it as I don't just want to hammer root notes like a lot of guitarists do when they pick a bass up.
Looking forward to spending so time trawling through old posts and seeing what's what.
