New here (but longtime lurker), hello all!

Hello, TalkBass! I've lurked in the shadows for a while but am coming out to interact at last! :)

I'm originally a guitar player but decided to take up bass about a year ago, and I have fallen hard for the instrument. I'm far from a master, but I think I moved up to the "mediocre" level pretty quickly due to my prior musical training and experience. I actually found my way into a very talented band recently...still not sure how I managed that. Anyway, I've got an Ibanez GSR series bass which I'm looking to move up from--I love the thing but it's not going to work forever, especially in a band setting! There's a very interesting-looking Hagstrom HB4 sitting in a local music store that I've yet to try...I love strange basses/guitars (my main six-string [plain ol' guitar] is a Brian May Signature, for instance). Maybe I'll get some opinions on that one here, too...? :) Oh, yes, and my rather unoriginal choice for Personal Bass God is none other than John Entwistle of the 'Orrible 'Oo.

That's all for now! Hope to talk to you all soon!
