New Ibanez ARTB Series?

I got a black one, new on Ebay from a music store and got it for 359.99 on the best offer deal. It's awesome! I got the Mikro and the ARTB100.

As a matter of fact, I just checked Ebay and there is a white ARTB for 359.99 and a black one for 369.99 under the 'but it now' clause. Better jump on it if you want one at that reduced price!

If you forgive my ignorance, and the slight detour off topic, but why does anyone want a 30" scale bass? I mean wouldn't this decrease the string tension and the tone would suffer? And if the string gauge is compensated to make up for that, wouldn't this lower the volume.

They make short scale bass strings don't they?

That's a good point about strings. I have a Mikro Ibanez (28 and a half) and the ARTB (30). Would short scale bass strings fit both of those bass guitars?

I moonlight in a music store, an Ibanez dealer, on Sundays; we just broke this one out last week and it's truly fun to play. God string tension, rich sound, and veru comfortable. That ebay special is pretty near our cost.
