New Ibanez SR505 hums... even when I touch it???

Took my new Ibby w/ Bart MK-1s to church band rehearsal tonight. Plugged in and got a nice annoying hum whether I touched the strings or not. That seemed odd to me.

Then I plugged in the church's Ibanez SR 4?? and it had no hum at all... no matter what I did with the controls, ect.

Any thoughts from the electron gurus out there?

Most retail stores give 1 free tune up after you buy. Just tell them the problem and Im sure it'll be fixed.

Thanks for the reply, but my situation is a bit awkward. I'm looking for a solution or cause for such a problem. Does anyone else have this issue with an Ibanez?

I had a similar problem with a brand new ATK. It turned out that there was a sloppy solder connection.
But it's also a matter of if the bass only does it at the church or not.
If it only does it at the church it means that they have wiring issues and you should use a ground lift.

Thanks Mikey. It did it at the repair shop today as well. Gotta play this weekend so I couldn't leave it with the boys over at Goez Repair in St. Louis. I'll have to take it back next week.

They'll just have to open it up and get a look at it. It's not bad enough to worry over too much, I guess.
