New Ibanez SR600

Does anyone have the new Ibanez SR600, has anyone played it before.
I'm thinking about buiyng one as my next bass, and i need some opinions/reviews on this bass

Also would the fact that it has an Ash body make me lose tone because of resenance?

Nice looking bass.

However, the ash body is not a problem. Fender's been using it for decades.

I haven't played this bass in particular, but I'm certainly hoping to come across one soon.

I have been looking for something lighter and played a SR600 this evening and was quite taken with it. Played through a Nemesis 1x15 combo I was able to dial in my pick and finger tones without much effort and the bass is a joy to play. I might have to go back tomorrow...

Really light body. I was surprised at how thin it was (the body). Seems a lot of the newer SR's are going this "paper thin" body route these days. Neck was typical Ibanez thinness. Tone was good. Or what you'd expect from an instrument with barts. The one I played was the black flat finish.

Overall, I dug it. Not much of a review, I know, as I didn't spend too much time with it, but I wasn't put off with what I experienced by any means.

I had actually played one about a week ago for the first time at a SamAsh. It definitly surpassed my expectations.

Because it was Ibanez and an SR series (I own an Ibanez SR506) I decided to give it a go, despite being a 6-string player. I thought it was a really great bass though. It seemed very versitile, going from fingerstyle to slap no problem. It sounded swell too, a little punchy and a great overall tone. What I loved about it though was the feel. It just felt so smooth and perfect, and you know an instrument is good when it plays effortlessly (which it definitely did).

I'd say it's a good deal for the money. Overall I think it was a great bass, next time you go to a guitar shop check it out and give it a go. Hope this helped.

Strange I have only just picked up this post , but have to add my view ,

I am im my sixties now and have always played bass , have played

just about every conceivable bass guitar at one time or another,

I currently own a Fender Precision Bass , and the Ibanez SR600 ,

and almost always choose the Ibanez over the Fender ,

its lighter, build quility is perhaps somewhat better , but that neck is

outstanding really playable , the sounds available are wide ranging

and really responsive , I guess because of the Bart active pickups

the body is super slim really beautiful , thanks for reading ,
