New Ibanez TMB500...yes 500!

So it seems like Ibanez has come up with a mid-level Talman entry similar to the TMB600. This one has the CND pickups like the 600 but also a roasted maple neck.

Check the two out below (4 and 5 string).

I ordered the 4, but wish it came in the silver. Hopefully more colors will follow.

I love the 100s and had a 600 but the ash body weighed a ton. This one is a different body wood so I'm hoping for something around 9lbs max.

Very cool ! My TMB 605 is a hair over ten pounds but doesn't bother me but lighter would be better . Like the color and the roasted maple neck .

I really dig the roast maple too. What I like most is that most companies are charging high prices for this option, but Ibanez is introducing in on mid-level instruments now and not acting like it is some uber-premium feature. Same as SBMM started to do.

The TMB series has such a great classic Vibe to it while also having modern features . I personally love em.

Would TMB500/505 okoume body be lighter than TMB600/605 ash body which some complained of weighing a ton?

I keep reading that boutique builders go for Okoume when they want the tonal properties of mahogany in a lightweight package. So I sure do hope so! It'd be a perfect allround bass then. Even the metallic green is growing on me...

I have the TMB605. That is not me playing. I don't have pics of mine. The Roasted neck is nice on the 500, but I do like the blocks and binding on the 605.

How much lighter is this TMB500?

They phased out the TMB300 a while back, now adding a TMB500. Love it with the roasted neck, pickups like the TMB600, but seriously...…...four string is available in only one color, the one color I don't particularly care for. Mint green I do like, but ….green is not my cup of tea. What's going on with Ibanez and their paint department? First it's the bizarre color patterns for the SR300E, one that looks like a candy corn, you get a bright color choices with the Mezzo, and for this TMB500...one, and only one choice. No soup for you!

I like the Ibanez finish on their TMB100m. Mustard Yellow. Flat. Almost like a Tung Oil finish. If they did that more I think the idea would sell.
