New IRON ETHER Pedal: Arcing Prisms

I always loved the sounds John McLaughlin used to get running his guitar through a frequency shifter in the 1970s, glad there's once again a commercially available unit from a well respected manufacturer for us all to partake.
Some of the demos made me think of some sounds I've heard in Little Dragon songs, on albums like Ritual Union and Machine Dreams in particular.
Oh, and they're releasing their new album tomorrow, too
But not to thread derail.... I NEED A BIGGER PEDALBOARD!! There's already two IE pedals on it and clearly need to be a third one. And a fourth if an FMeron drops in on me. Heavens.

Divaricator
Nimbus SE
Polytope
..and the Arcing Prisms on the way. I'd still eventually like to pick up an old Oxide and will probably end up with a Dubterranea eventually, though that's not a priority given I have C4 and also a Future Impact already.
As of right now, the Polytope is the only one on my board, but not for lack of love, more for size and multi-task logistics.
just got mine today, very cool pedal and is a lot like the nimbus in regard to the clarity it has with bass.
I watch a bunch of pedal reviews w guitar, order and then am disappointed that it's nothing but a muddy mess, not in this case

Nice. Mine showed up today. Haven't had a chance to play around with it (will take some setup work to get my amp in place and set up, I've been playing without an amp since early March when we were last on the road).
So far, we have #3, #5 (mine) and #8 accounted for.
Good to hear that it's clean and clear sounding, I really like that feature in the Polytope as well. Being able to pass-filter lows or highs in verbs/delays and modulation effects is a really important feature with bass.

That’s one of the main things that attracted me to the pedal. Of course, it will be going on my board along side the EHX Ring Thing, since you can never have enough ring mod.

There's no way to bypass the frequency shifter completely, but you can set the shift amount to 0 and get a pretty normal delay sound. There is some built-in bandpass filtering in the frequency shifter so the delay repeats will still get slightly filtered every time they repeat.

It seems like if you're looking for a 'normal delay' there's a ton out there that will do it with more effective control? It seems like you probably can get close here, but it wouldn't probably be a first choice of 'normal delay'. Spoken as someone who's got a handful of delays but haven't had time to really mess with my AP yet.
I’m just wondering if I need a normal delay pedal in addition to the AP. I guess I’d need to hear it with the Shift to 0. I have an El Cap now. I don’t necessarily use all of its features and that’s why I’m asking. Plus, I really like the sounds out of the AP.

It probably won't replace the Timeline on my board.
I think come for the whole package and what it does, and if the 'delay alone' is good enough, then it's a bonus for you.
@Taylor Livingston I’m really liking the pedal so far! This is my second IE pedal (not counting a used Nimbus I tried years ago) and I’m quite pleased, looking forward to diving deeper.
Any chance you could share the knob settings for the “gamelan” sample?

Cool, glad you like it! I didn't take notes when recording the clips, but it's definitely on the hexagon mode, with shift around 10:30 (so shifting down) and delay around noon.
I'm working on a manual which I'll send out by email soon. One tip I can offer that's not obvious is that getting the watery phaser-ish sounds requires blending in the clean signal while using only a small shift amount (easiest to do on small-triangle mode). The slightly different frequency content between the clean and shifted signals creates a varying cancellation at different frequencies, similar to the moving notches in a phaser.
