The guys at the shop put the bass together out of 3 stock MIM Jazz basses from the same year(1998). Pau Ferro fingerboard...

Couldn't have had a better shopping experience.

if i recall the late 90's was right around the time the MIM stuff started really improving- so i wouldn't be surprised if its really a great one.
