New LaBella “Fat Wounds” Strings

On the SBL Podcast covering the NAMM show, around 22:30 Ian mentions a new set of LaBella flatwounds, the “Fat Wounds”: heavy gauge with lower tension.

In a Post on LaBella’s Facebook Page, they describe them as follows:

Flats have bankrupted me. It was so refreshing to pay $26 for a 5 string set of regular Slinkys the other day.

Chromes wear out in 2 years. Inevitable GAS kicks in where many of us go "I can't remember what this bass sounded like with rounds?".

La Bella alone is guilty of this: why LTF vs 760FX? how do these new Olindos compare to the other sets? I'm not sure if I should be grateful all of them are super-expensive in Europe, which makes me postpone trying them indefinitely, or annoyed I won't know which one to try the day I decide to actually do it!

At least there are YouTube demos. I have this one fretless that I'm sure will sound and feel better with D'addario tapewounds. But I've spent so much money on gear this year. I think I've exceeded my annual musician income (+/- $5000)....
