New Les Claypool

What is it about him playing guitar that bothers you?
Sean playing guitar does not bother me. Listening to him play does not bother me. He’s a good guitarist; he plays to the material.

I think I was very specific about what bothers me: WATCHING him play. His chosen image, combined with how he moves onstage. It’s like watching Angus Young. (Not the same moves or look of course; I just don’t dig the stage persona.)

I’m not sure what you’re seeing…he’s just grooving along, it’s not like he’s doing the Freddie or anything like that. As far as “chosen image”, I’ve seen Les in all sorts of goofy get-ups…so what? Sean isn’t(that I’ve observed)dressed in anything outlandish. It’s show-biz, whaddya want, cargo shorts?

I fired a really skilled drummer for wearing a Hawaiian shirt to a profile gig...

Watched a interesting Paul McCartney bio thing recently. Can you even imagine the challenges of working in music even a generation away from the obsessively loved Beatles?

I kinda see it as brave for him to allow the use of ADT on his vox, amplifying how much he sounds like his dad.

I saw Lennon & Claypool a few years ago with the Frog Brigade with Harry Waters (Roger's son) on keys. It was a great show, and included in the set was the entire Pink Floyd Animals album (a real bonus for me because I used to be in a PF tribute band). Sean did well playing guitar on all that. They opened up for Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew playing Talking Heads' Remain In Light (among other things) and featured Julie Slick on bass. A fun time was had by all.
This new stuff in the OP sounds good, thanks for sharing!
