It's an incredible recording, feels like an heir to 'emerald tears' to me, both in terms of the balance of freedom and structure and also the clarity of ideas and articulation
He's had a long and great career -tempting to say everything! More usefully, he's made a lot of albums of a leader, I particularly love the trio 'Open Loose', which is Tom Rainey on drums and Tony Malaby on tenor (the earlier Open Loose albums were with Ellery Eskelin on tenor). A lot of his albums as a leader are on his bandcamp page I linked to above.
As a side man he's worked with loads of master musicians - Don Cherry, Ed Blackwell, Anthony Braxton, Marilyn Crispell...
