Jake is selling an earlier Puma 500 in the classifieds. This one sounds really nice.
But if a 900 comes up (which it will) you might want the additional power at some point. They're going for less than $600.

So that would be the ones with the Powersoft Module or the later ones with the ICE? Just curious.

Got it, unfortuntately they didn't make them for very long, although the 900's held out with the Powersoft longer than 350's and the 500's

the little one is 7 3/4 wide by 11 1/2 deep (that goes down to 8 deep at the top) by 12 high (that goes down to 10 1/2 at the top) 9 1/2#

Tried them both with upright. I prefer the little one. A bit more open and clearer. If it were me going to a gig---I'd take the little one. I had to eq the bass up just a bit but top volume was about the same.

The smaller is better? I have the same experience. Some time ago I made two very small boxes like below from 6mm MDF (the slot vent too long, had to shorten it). Both contain 6.5" B&C 6NDL38 speaker. I would describe the sound difference between them using exactly the same words as quoted.

I'm happy somebody starts to create these ultra small boxes professionaly. I'm using mine for years now. For a small jazz gig with silent drums one is enough. For bigband practises, I use both boxes stacked for better coverage. Never needed to be more loud. I don't need to put up the lows, but my bass has a lot of lows on itself. Using these small boxes allows me to play around central Prague (where it's impossible to park) without need of a car.

The custom 6.5 I use has a bigger Xmax and rather than a Fs of 72, like the B&C, mine have an Fs of 37hz. Because of the contribution of the rear wave---should go as loud as your 2 cabs and with more low end. Not a criticism---looks really cool and well thought out. Just pointing out the differences. Two of them sold already. BTW--good idea with the porting. Keeps it loaded much lower.

I think I am happy with the treble extension on my MAS 16. But intrigued by the simplicity of no crossover. Anyway, super happy with the 16, so I can resist. A 18 to complement the 16 is more relevant

Nothing like a second MAS I have a powered MAS 1/8 v1 & a powered MAS 1/8 v2. The smaller one's for smaller gigs.

This sounds like you finally found an ultimate bass cab! Fs of 37Hz on 6.5" sounds like rocket scientist's dream to me. You definitely are on the right track, at least for us mass transporters. Good luck!

I just finished a matinee concert at the Sheldon Auditorium here in St. Louis using the my new MAS 1/8 with a 1,200 watt ICE power module and the HPF. It was great!!! I could hear every note, so could our pianist.

The Sheldon holds 500+ and the audience could hear every note I played as well, you can tell by the way they responded. When the CD get's mastered I'll try and post a few samples.

sorry--been a bit sick but am recovering. Working a few hours a day. Didn't know you could get Covid 19 twice. You can. The severity is less the second time around.
BTW--just made a little 16 powered by a 500 watt Ice module with our HPF. Also--the HPF has been changed. We needed to add a buffer stage and it has completely eliminated hum and ground loop problems.
