New member from NC

Hello everyone. New guy here from North Carolina. I just switched over to bass from a good 20 year run on guitar. IMO there is nothing more satisfying than locking in with a drummer and laying down those grooves. Have my first bass coming in next week from sweetwater. A MIA Jaguar in Olympic White. I've been borrowing a Jaguar when jamming with friends and now I've got my own. So happy

Looking forward to learning a lot from these forums.

Welcome to the bottom end. Amps; I expect you will be gigging in short order. 15 watt for practice and then at least 200 watt for gigging. Sound / tone - I leave that for you to decide.

I practice on the 15 watt and leave the 200 watt down stairs, see no need to lug the monster upstairs. In what I do 200 watts gets it done, above that I'll be plugging into the house PA system.

Hey MalcolmAmos. I do plan on gigging again within the next few months. I'm looking at a few amps right now in the 300-500 watt range because the July 4th deals are so good. 15% at musicians friend or a 50 dollar gift card if you get a Fender.

REALLY looking hard into the Fender Rumble 500, Carvin BR510, GK MB210-II combos. Need something able to keep up with a drummer with a custom DW set and Zildjian Z customs all around (sometimes friggin too loud).
