New Mesa Boogie Titan!

hey, for those of you who have tried the Titan and various other Mesa bass gear, how about a compare or two.

I know that I have read several threads that explored the idea of a "bigger Walkabout". I have also read that even though the Walkabout is an Mpulse family member, the Mpulse 600 does not sound like the Walkabout.

so, what do you say ..........

i believe that is stereo operation, the 1200 at 4ohms is bridged mono.

The amp is mono. Also, according to the most recent Mesa catalog, the Titan is 1400w @ 2ohms.

I used to own a 400+, and have played the M-Pulse 600, but not the Walkabout. I traded the 400+ for my SVT because I thought the Mesa lacked the colour I was looking for at that time. I bought the Titan because of the need for a high power hybrid head. The Titan has that natural warmth I could never seem to coax out of the 400+. (Sounds crazy huh?:p ) I didn't play the M-Pulse for all that long, though it was an amazing sounding amp! I feel with both amps set flat (Titan & M-Pulse) the Titan has a stronger midrange voicing.

I like Mesa stuff, but they get a little tacky with their hype. Makes you think you are in NASCAR racing instead of a band.

The stunning torque of this 1200 watt motor is apparent in the V-12s’ sonic footprint. Instantaneous attack, shocking clarity and the ability to late-brake and stop on a dime - even at high revs – put you out front

Well, considering that Randall Smith - the founder of Mesa/Boogie - is an avid racing fan, I'd say you'd have to expect that kind of talk. Boogie has always compared their amps to cars, even back in the old days.

Can both channels be used simultaneously? And are there any Hi-Res pics so we can get a look of at the front/back panel?

Two channels simultaneously is something I'd invest greatly in. How much are these going for? $2000?

How much would you get out of running both channels blended/simultaneously if they are identical?

Not sure how that works/what would it do but I'm sure someone may have the right answer to that.
