So I just picked up my new fretless 5 today from Laurence Mollerup (LM).

Specs are:
Chambered walnut body with Paduak top
Maple neck with lined Zircote Fingerboard 33" scale
1 Nordstrand dual coil wired in series
1 vol knob :)
Hipshot hardware.

So far its taking a small adjustment to the 33" scale, but this thing sounds just terrific and from the pics you can see its quite shallow as well as chambered...so its an ultralight...havent weighed it yet, and dont have a scale here but I would guess...6.5 to 7lbs?....

It sounds just great just played for a few minutes through Laurences EA rig, and then a bit at home through my cafe walter and I cant be happier with how this turned out exactly the tone I wanted :)

I quite like his neck joint design as well.....all I knew going in was I wanted a walnut body and 33" scale one pick up one knob kind of thing, Laurence suggested the Paduak as he had some and had built a 4 string with walnut body out of it so had an idea tonally what it would do,,,I left the fingerboard to him and till today I hadnt seen that part of the build til today...

Laurence is a terrific player and his design works very well hangs and balances perfectly..this bass would be a breeze to play a long gig.
